We are looking for Qualified & Experienced Butchers to join our Butchery Team based in our Auckland Foodservices branch located at Mangere. This role is full-time, permanent.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Days of work: Monday-Friday
Hours of work: 5.00 am - 01:30 pm (approx.)
Friday shifts can finish early
Permanent full time
To perform preliminary duties required to commence butchery work including the setting up of operating machines
To prepare cuts of meat to specification including de-boning with maximum yield achieved and trimming and cutting product effectively
To operate specific butchery instruments where required to further prepare product to specification i.e. Band saw, mincer, skinner and knife-work
Cut meat, trim, scrap, clean and preparation of standard meat cuts.
Operate sausage filling machines, smoking chambers, and/or cooking kettles and vats.
Operate machines to grind, mix, mince and dice meat
OUR IDEAL APPLICANTS WILL
Previous experience as a qualified Butcher and a good understanding of the industry
Experience in Wholesale, Boning and Small Goods etc.
Hands on experience in cutting meat and preparation of standard meat cuts
Excellent knife handling skills
Good reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
Basic Time management skills are necessary
Attention to detail and flexibility
Have high energy levels, be fit and strong
Have a great attitude, commitment and reliability
Positive mindset to work in a team environment
Prior NZ experience in this field mandatory. Knowledge of basic food ingredients is essential.
